Well, if I was slow with the last release, at least I can do better with this one. There was a new kernel update in this release but my patches applied fine and the resulting image checks out on n800. As before, I have no idea how well the high speed mode interacts with the eMMC inside the n810 and I’m afraid I still have no idea when I’ll be able to check that out; I’m in the US – where we’re lucky enough to have to deal with a web store which doesn’t accept the maemo discount codes and their out of stock anyway. *sigh* It would be nice if someone from Nokia could comment on this mess.

I tried it on my N800, it stills run (good sign
), but doing an hdparm -t from my computer with my N800 connected via USB says the read speed is about 4.4Mb/s and in the N800, with time and dd I get about the same result. My SD is an high-speed card (~10Mb/s with the card reader). Is it normal ?
I’m puzzled too. I just did some quick tests on my n800 and I’m seeing lower read numbers as well. The debug output confirms that it’s running at 48MHz and using the 4 bit bus, so I’m not sure what’s up.
“Lower” as compared to the modified kernel in OS2007? Or just lower then expected ? Or I guess both
FWIW I’ll be trying this with an N810 here in a couple days, just waiting for my card (4gb mini sdhc class 6) to arrive. Will report back.
Yeah, both. Also weird is that it got slower and slower when I repeated the test even though you’d expect the disk cache to speed it up. It’s very weird.

I wanted to ask, is the debug patch constantly making logs to the dmesg/kernel or does it only make a log with the timings and bus mode when a memory card is inserted.
